Advice For Newly Engaged Couples

Advice For Newly Engaged Couples

If I could give my top 3 for advice for a newly engaged couples, this is what it would be.

1. Picking a Photographer: Picking a photographer can prove to be quite challenging. There are so many photographers with various photography styles. The upmost important thing to consider when selecting a photographer, is to find someone who personally brings out the best in both the bride and groom. If the photographer can interact with the couple, making them feel comfortable and relaxed, then the real beauty of their love can be captured in a photograph.

2.The Engagement Session: An engagement session is an absolute must!  It allows both the photographer and couple get to know each other. The photographer can learn so much about the couple from the engagement session. During the engagement session, the photographer will observe if couple likes photos that are more natural, vougue posed, or has a free spirit to try adventurous poses. All 3 give very different results in the photos. It’s best the photographer knows the couple’s personality before the wedding day. It could be disastrous and very uncomfortable for a photographer to shoot a “vogue posed bride” and then ask her to hop on her groom’s shoulders. I tell my engaged couples on to think of their engagement session as a session full of passion and to display their love for one another. This helps them relax and be themselves. It’s also the most romantic and fun they will ever have taking photos together. Because on their wedding day no matter how well planned it is, there will be stress involved.

3. The Wedding Day: By the time the wedding day has arrived, the photographer should have a good idea about the couples personality and their favoroite photos from the engagement session. My only advice for the wedding day is to take it all in and enjoy every single moment of it. That is how the best photos will be captured. There is so much love and excitement on the wedding day. If the couple can just let their love shine for each other, the camera will capture that same feeling.
