What is boudoir?
In terms of photography its capturing woman of different ages and sizes in an intimate and classy setting.
Nothing can make a woman feel more beautiful than a boudoir session. It all starts with having your hair and makeup done professionally. That alone can make a women’s day! Once we have our makeup, hair and what to wear all settled we can then start to embrace our beauty and femininity. This can be so very scary to some women because this is outside most women’s comfort zone. The very best are moms and women over 40 because this allows women to embrace their beauty and feel comfortable in your own skin. When we look in the mirror we often tend to focus on the flaws.
When is the best time for a boudoir shoot? Sit down ladies because there is not a bad time to see your best self. I ended up doing a boudoir session after having 3 kids and over the age of 40! My body was better at 20 and didn’t have to cover stretch marks and extra skin. My photographer friend Diane Schafer and I had the most amazing time. We posed and photographed each other. With the right posing and lighting, a boudoir session will be a success.
When thinking of a boudoir session a few things to ask yourself are
